HOW WE STARTED
We started in 2012 with a single scooter and the realization that a scooter is a really economical mode of transportation. Once skilled, it can also provide many jobs.
The conscious CSI department at LegalWise, successfully seek-and-find opportunities that help lift people out of poverty. They identified us and our first Enterprise Development contribution was gratefully received by them. This had a big impact on getting the Scully Academy wheels turning.
Like with many businesses, we’ve had to navigate some tricky obstacles. As the video shows, after many ‘test-and-fail’ situations we’ve survived not only to tell the tale but to continually improve our offering.

Scully Scooters launches the first Mechanics-on-the-Move programme in South Africa. Motorcycle mechanics, on Motorcycles

Our Cape Town branch opens and we mobilize the first Social-Workers-on-the-Move
2016
🍟UBER EATS COMES TO SOUTH AFRICA
Uber Eats launches in the Scully Scooters offices in Johannesburg. We provide them with their first scooter riders that, through Enterprise Development funding, all have their own Business-on-a-Bike
2017
🍼MOTHERS MILK SERVICE
Scully Scooters launch the first service to get Mothers Milk to their premature babies in hospital. We continue to train hundreds of riders for McDonalds and other companies in the food delivery market
2018

We visit Bali to explore Scooter market trends. We marvel at the country's honest nature - people freely leave helmets and jackets on their bikes. Theft is considered negative Karma - which brings harm to those that steal and lie.
🚀DELIVERY SERVICES IN THE FAST FOOD INDUSTRY SKY ROCKETS
Scully Scooters is there to train, certify and provide Riders for these fleets
2019
⛑SUPPORTING MEDICAL ACCESS
We get molecular diagnostic testing devices into hard to reach areas in the Eastern Cape, on Motorcycles. More details to come on this exciting and effective Health-on-the-Move programme
2022
LAUNCH AS SCULLY ACADEMY
After 10 years of getting South Africa moving, Scully Scooters Evolves and become Scully Academy. We launch a one-of-a-kind new online rider training platform!
